Evaluation

I am quite happy with the story that I had produced by the end of this project. I found new methods for story writing and put it into practice. Using a simple writing template/structure I was able to quite easily and quickly come up with story ideas that were simple yet had more substance than any old story or scenario written without structure. I then used the Idea I found the most interesting and added more details, fleshing the simple story out. I am happy with the end product which was a story of a pack of cards that reminded me of the likes of Toy Story and other Pixar films. As I am aspiring to be an animator writing storys for games or short films, I have found this project most helpful and will definately use the methods I have learned in this module in the future.

Synopsis

An old tattered deck of cards can be seen on a discoloured table. Years are shown passing by and the cards gather dust and remain untouched. After a while one card slips out of the pack, animated like a human looking around and escaping the room. The card is seen travelling in search of someone and getting nowhere. Meanwhile the other cards worried about their friend, eventually go in search for him. When they are reunited the card tells the pack of his findings or lack of. The cards decide that they only need each other and decide to live life and never return to the loneliness of the box.

Final Story Idea

After using this method of story writing I have decided to go with the 3rd Idea. I have chosen this story because I feel it is the most unique of the bunch and this makes it interesting.

3rd Story Idea

Once upon a time there was an old deck of cards.
And everyday they waited patiently for someone to play with them.
Until one day one of the cards decided to go and look for someone.
And because of that the other cards worried.
And because of that the deck of cards felt incomplete.
And because of that they searched for the missing card.
Until finally they found the lost card who told them that there were no humans left on earth.
And since that day they learned to have fun together, and played happily ever after.
And the moral of the story is appreciate what you have.

Second story idea

Once upon a time there was an unusually happy man.
And everyday he looked after his beautiful flower garden.
Until one day his dog died.
And because of that he was miserable.
And because of that he gave upon life.
And because of that his flowers withered and died.
Until finally he realised what had happened to the flowers.
And since that day he replanted his garden and kept a smile on his face.
And the moral of the story is negativity only attracts negativity.
